Extracurricular Activities
The school offers a variety of clubs that are supervised by school staff.
Students are encouraged to join at least one extracurricular activity. It is through these involvements that they can make the most of their precious high school years by making friends and memories and by contributing to their school community. As with anything in life, what you put into something has a direct correlation with what you get out of it.
Competitive Athletics
There are a number of competitive teams for both boys and girls, such as badminton, basketball, cross-country running, curling, golf, soccer, swimming, track and field, and volleyball. All students are encouraged to try out for a team.
Recreational Activities
Not everyone wants to play on competitive teams, but there are many students who like to be active and develop a healthy lifestyle, learning lifelong recreational skills to enhance their quality of life. Archbishop Oscar Romero High School offers an intramural program for fun and exercise as well as other recreational clubs, such as the Bloomsday Running Club, Club Yeti (ski club), the Book Club, as well as the LOTR and Star Wars Clubs.
Student Activities
Student activities are coordinated by a student leadership team. This team coordinates activities, theme days, and various projects. Involvement in student leadership provides students an instructive practicum in organization and accomplishment. The Student Leadership room is located by the Core.
All students not participating in school-sponsored events are expected to vacate the premises promptly after the school day, as no supervision is provided.
