Laptop Computer Acceptable Use Policy
The iLearn Laptop Learning Initiative at Archbishop Oscar Romero High School provides the school community with a tool to expand its students’ learning opportunities. It is in the development of the students’ 21st century skills, and the technology used to prepare them, that opens limitless possibilities; users may go virtually anywhere and interact with anyone. With such opportunity, however, comes responsibility. Use of the Archbishop Oscar Romero High School network and its related computer facilities is a privilege afforded to members of the school community.
The school and Edmonton Catholic Schools provides a set of guidelines for security and acceptable use, and violations of these guidelines will be dealt with by the teaching staff and school administration. Students are directed by the underlying principle of the guidelines to an understanding of the appropriate use of technology in an educational setting.
All members of the Archbishop Oscar Romero High School community understand that this new tool must be used with good judgment, common sense, and integrity.
